Possible reasons for Code 46 Errors

Please review this list for potential reasons a Code 46 may occur. If you are receiving an error not on this list or require further assistance, please contact CYMA at 800-292-2962.

  1. File Attribute: If a dat file (CYMA data file) is "Read Only", use Windows Explorer and right click on the file. Select Properties / Security and see if the "Read Only" check box is checked.  If it is, uncheck the check box.

  2. Host/Server Services and Permissions: Check permissions and reboot the Host/Server computer to ensure all network and permission services are available.

  3. Virus Scan: If a virus scan is being done on a file at the same time CYMA System is writing to that file, a Code 46 may occur because the virus scan will open the file in Read Only mode.  Configure the virus scan to not scan the CYMA data directories or schedule the scan for the time of day when the system is most idle and after the night audit would be completed.

  4. Backup System: If a backup is being done on a file at the same time CYMA System is writing to that file, a status 46 may occur because the backup will open the file in Read Only mode.  Schedule the backup for the time of day when the system is most idle and after the night audit would be completed.
